Wales Bonner’s latest collection with adidas follows up on themes developed in AW20 and SS21. The AW21 assortment, titled “ Black Sunlight,” spotlights a world of Caribbean thought and Black British intellectualism, drawing from scholars, poets, and artists from the Caribbean, India, and West Africa and their respective work. From apparel to accessories, iconic adidas styles are reinvigorated through Wales Bonner’s inimitable lens, as the collaboration showcases ‘80s-inspired cut lines and silhouettes elevated with collegiate graphics that point to academic and spiritual growth. One of the staples from the adidas x Wales Bonner partnership has been — and remains — the tracksuit. This season, the pants arrive in a blue “Night Sky” colorway featuring contrasting, light-colored accents. The track bottoms are embellished with Three Stripes detailing in Wales Bonner’s signature crochet, in addition to embroidered adidas Trefoil and Wales Bonner logos.
