The saga of Elon Musk’s very strange summer continues. After a wild week where Musk was accused of, well, a lot by Azealia Banks, and gave an uncharacteristically emotional interview to The New York Times, it appears that things may also be going awry in his relationship with girlfriend Grimes. Both Musk and Grimes have unfollowed each other on Instagram and Musk has unfollowed her on Twitter (though, as of publication, she still follows him).

The unfollowing session comes shortly after Banks posted a series of direct messages with Grimes, who told Banks that “the russians want elon dead,” adding, “and by proxy we’re all kidnapping fodder.” She also called his accent “fake,” which could have been the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Banks, in addition to her other accusations against Musk, accused the Tesla founder of “tapping [her] phone all week.”

Musk and Grimes have been dating since their red carpet debut at this year’s Met Gala, where the pair danced together in bliss for Vogue during the party. The unusual pairing sparked just about every conceivable emotional response from the Internet.

Last week, Musk talked to the Times about how his work at Tesla has been affecting his physical health and personal life.

“It’s not been great, actually,” he said. “I’ve had friends come by who are really concerned.”

The last time Musk was active on Twitter was Sunday, when he responded to a user asking him if video streaming would be available on Tesla cars while they charge, replying with a simple “Version 10.”

Grimes has yet to respond to a request for comment and a rep for Musk declined to comment.
